Giger counted

The Swiss artist primarily responsible for the design of the xenomorph in Alien, H. R. Giger, has died, at only 74, following injuries from a fall.  His 'biomechanical' artistry was revolutionary at the time and led to the Steampunk trend that is so prevalent today that it got a mention at the Olympics.  He also produced works for recording artists and did some design consultation for AlienĀ³ (with its swimming xenomorph that derived from a dog).  He is one of the names that are legendary yet also low-profile as well - an enigma in himself.
